Transparency - don't overdo it

A lot of social media companies have been promoting "transparency" over the last few years. Here's even a picture taken by a paparazzi (so I'm told) of a manager at a big company, sharing a bit of his private life :P

The Power Of Search Syntax - Archive Secrets

You have already heard about using online video as one of many ways to attract visitors to your website. Unless you've been living in a cave for the last 296 years, you know about "YouTube" and the massive amount of viewers who hang out over there.

What are they doing? They are watching, commenting, reviewing and sharing videos with their friends. Millions of viewers are there, doing all of that, every day!

For obvious reasons, you want to get some attention from them. But you don't have any videos to publish right? Wrong! Well, you don't have any yet... but you can download free videos, remix them and redistribute them thanks to videos that are licensed with one of the many Creative Commons licenses.

The best place to find free online videos is the Internet Archive

Go to the advanced search, and find the search form for "Advanced XML Search (for Admins and Curators)". It's a bit tricky though, you need to know some strange search syntax like: AND OR * metadata...

...but here's a search query I made just for you, simply add your keywords at the end:

(mediatype:movies OR mediatype:MovingImages) AND (/metadata/licenseurl:http*by/* OR /metadata/licenseurl:http*publicdomain*) AND

Here is an example:

(mediatype:movies OR mediatype:MovingImages) AND (/metadata/licenseurl:http*by/* OR /metadata/licenseurl:http*publicdomain*) AND chimpanzees

The search results will only contain videos which you are free to remix and redistribute. Remember to check the license again when you have selected a video, just to make sure.

Good luck!

ps. here are my two cheezy movies over at YouTube (warning: contains irony) :

The Power Of Repetition

Many thanks to electrolux_social at flickr.com for sharing all these great advertising photos. They're perfect for my sense (or lack of) humor!

There are many photo sharing sites where you can grab media which is free to use to some extent. Have a look over at the Creative Commons list for some sites with CC-licenced material!

How To Use Free Online Video To Attract Visitors

The response for my first slideshow was quite good (356 views in 3 days). I decided to follow it up with a slideshow about free online video resources.

Feel free to use it, print it or redistribute it. It's all about sharing :)

Make me smile, leave a comment, thx!

Ready. Set.........Share!

Sharing is fascinating - it includes so many basic elements of the human behaviour and our society while it still remains so intriguing.

As you all know, unless you've been living in a cave the last 15 years or so, the internet is great for sharing information, knowledge and opionions. The technology evolves but the motives behind sharing remains the same.

It remains so, because we all want to participate in building our society. We want to see our fellow world citizens progress in their strive for success. We want to inform people about new research and reports. We want to give advice and debate to develop a better understanding for each other.

That is why I want to share with you. Yes, I'm actually willing to offer you something - without any obligations at all for you. For a limited time only, I'm sharing two of my presentations with you - and it's all for FREE over at slideshare.com. You can print them, redistribute them online or even sell them!

That's right, I'm offering you the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of making money from what I share with you.

So, go check them out!

Feel free to leave me a comment! That will put a big happy smile on my face because I just love it when you share your thoughts too.

Behind the scenes... cheezy, I know!

After getting, in my opionion, massive response to my first video I started thinking... "It might be interesting to show a Behind The Scenes-movie about it".

Tubemogul, www.tubemogul.com is great for uploading video to multiple sites and tracking them over time. That's how you can measure what kind of response you get.

What do you think about this movie? I would really like your comment because I just love to get feedback! Please, let me know what you think.

Is it really happening? - Cool with me

The slide I uploaded about 22 hours ago to www.slideshare.com already got 174 views. I guess the system is counting "displays", or people really thinks it's that funny, especially the last page in the slide. Whatever the reason is, I like it!

Another thing I like is the fact that in about two weeks, I'm launching my website. Last three days, I spent hours and hours on... well, it's a bit secret (you'll find out later), and it's still amazing how some industries just don't know how to use the internet. So finally today, I was saved by two busineswomen from Beijing. Thx! :) (I had fun today!)

Now, it made me think about a whole new business... and I'll keep you updated in future posts!

Sharing slides is fun. Really.

Wow! These slides were uploaded just a couple of hours ago and it already got 8 viewers?! Yeah! :)

What do you think of it? It's a bit thought provoking, isn't it?

YouTube mystery explained - It really is true!

Yes! The video about online marketing is launched! It got some of the "well known" key features that could make it viral. Actually, as you share it with your friends you can get their opionion about "how viral" it really is! I bet they will love it and thank you for sharing it with them.

I'll even share some tips and tricks about how to make viral videos on my website. The one I'm launching in 15 days from now. There is a FREE newsletter you can subscribe to, that way you can relax while I keep you updated. Now that is what I call a sweet deal!

Do you like it or hate it? Let me know with a comment!

Inspiration - One of the many keys to success

There was a conference about the Future Of Web Apps in London a couple of months ago. It was truly amazing, we even got to listen to the founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, when he shared his opionion.

The conference was extraordinary, but to keep me busy in the evenings at the hotel I read some articles about marketing. While doing my research, I stumbled upon a website about "how to do a successful product launch" by Jeff Walker. He's a really well known guy with a lot of case studies which proves the value of his methods.

You can even download and watch some of his free videos. I did that, and it had a huge impact on me! It was really a new and unique way of thinking. Inspiration!

Now I'm doing my own product launch - it's about a website. I can guarantee you, that you've never, ever seen anything like it! And I've done a lot of research about this! My website really is unique. No kidding.

Wow, long post... well, I'll keep you updated once or twice per day during the next 15 days and let you know what's really hidden behind this "Amazing Secret Launch" blog.

Take care and have fun!
